Empty Halls – A Short Poem

Dark HallwayImage Source

The halls are empty,
No one’s hearing,
My heart is pounding,
Heavy breathing.

My body is shivering,
The wind is blowing,
Tears are welling,
My head is throbbing.

They are close,
I just know,
Close the door,
Don’t let them come.

The voices shouted,
My mouth is silenced,
Drops have fallen,
My wrists are open.

The end is near,
My thoughts are clear,
I’m gone now,
Don’t let them hear.
